I’m headed off to hike part of the Pacific Crest Trail! Order fulfillment for all products is now paused until I return in September. For the story behind my trip and more info about the closure, see:

Update: I’ve returned from the trail! Thanks for your continued patience while we get back up and running. While we’re not yet accepting orders for new shelters, we are fulfilling orders for items in the ‘specials’ section and for cuben stuff sack kits.

 Product Description

The Shelter

The Cirriform SW is named after the wispy Cirrus clouds that paint the sky ahead of weather fronts. Hikers seeking an efficient shelter system will appreciate this single-wall (SW) shelter’s refined simplicity and functionality.

With proven performance on the Pacific Crest, Continental Divide, and Appalachian Trails, you can enjoy the Cirriform just about anywhere. We offer 0.5 oz or 0.8 oz cuben fiber for the fly and let you partner it with a silnylon or 1 oz cuben fiber tub-floor to let you customize the shelter for your use. It pitches using your trekking poles and 7 stakes (tent poles offered optionally). 360° no-see-um mesh panels provide ventilation while keeping mosquitoes at bay. Use the ‘OSAS’ System (Oh Snap, A Storm!) to block cold breezes by cinching the side panels shut.

  • Deep tub creates a spacious interior
  • Tapered tub-floor walls for extra elbow room
  • Tub floor collapses by 6" allowing low pitches
  • Zippered vestibule rolls completely out of the way
  • Taped seams on cuben fly never need sealing
    (floor's corners should be sealed)
  • Interior stash pocket and hang loop
  • Waterproof, Uretek zipper on fly
(size #3 on .5 oz cuben fiber, size #5 on .8 oz cuben fiber)
  • Reinforced tie-outs and peaks (more info)
  • Removable LineLoc Tensioners and Dyneema guyline included

Every shelter is handcrafted in our small workshop in the Blue Ridge. We believe in designing beautiful shelters that enhance your outdoor experience. Learn more about how we build our shelters (here).

 Warranty Information

YAMA is proud of the quality of its products.  Should you, the original owner, ever have a problem with your shelter caused by a defect in workmanship, please contact us to arrange repair or replacement.  The warranty does not cover damage due to accidents, normal wear and tear, or misuse, and the buyer is responsible for returning the item at their own expense. Repairs not covered by the warranty can usually be performed for a reasonable fee.

YAMA will do its best to address warranty repairs and replacements in a timely manner, however, be aware that YAMA may close periodically, sometimes for extended periods (we need to get out in the woods sometimes!).  During these times, if you have a warranty issue, send us an email and we'll reply as soon as we can. Reasonable efforts will be made to take care of the issue quickly, but in most cases you will have to wait until the shop reopens.

  1. A fine home!

Posted by Nora on 23rd Jan 2015

I used the Cirriform SW while hiking the Long Trail, and I couldn’t have been happier! It is incredibly spacious. Even with myself and all my gear inside, I still have a ton of room to spare. It only takes a minute or two for me to set it up, and it has kept me dry and happy through nights of relentless rain, thanks to the adjustable side panels. My favorite part is that it packs down to an unbelievably small size - I’ve never had so much room in my backpack! I really can’t rave enough about my Cirriform; by and far, it blows away all the other single-wall tents I have ever used. Thank you for providing such an efficient, effective, lightweight home!
